8. The result has been that the economies effected have been more than offset by the increased use of petrol by our much expanded establishments, as shown in the following tables, in which details are given of the increase in the numbers of motor vehicles and of motor launches, motor boats, etc., since April 1941 (Table A), and in the average expenditure of petrol since April 1941 (Table B). 9. Part of the increased expenditure of M/T petrol for craft results from issues made to additional vessels, (viz: locally based drifters, trawlers, minesweepers, destroyers, etc.
