This report is submitted in accordance with the request of the Lord President's Committee for a return breaking up into further sub-divisions the gross total of motor spirit used for civilian purposes (L.P.(41) 26). 2. To meet this request, the Ministry of War Transport undertook a special enquiry into the uses of motor fuel by goods vehicles in Great Britain in July 1941 and the results of their enquiry, which has now been completed, are given in full in Appendix I to this paper.
