STANDARD CLOTH. Memo. by President of the Board of Trade.

23 Jul 1941

SUPPLY AND PRICE CONTROL OF CLOTHING. Note by the Director-General of Civilian Clothing. 1. The long term policy of the Board of Trade relating to prices of clothing is to apply the Goods and Services Price Control Act to a wide range of articles of clothing and footwear, including all essential articles and covering roughly half (the lower half of the price range) of all clothing and footwear supplies. Once the machinery of this control is in operation it can be extended to whatever fraction of the price range is thought expedient.
