Interviews have already begun and the men selected for return will be allocated so far as possible to the districts in which they had previously worked as miners, but always having regard to the places where additional labour is most needed and can be used to the best advantage. The numbers which can be absorbed in each area have been ascertained through returns made by the mines and allocations to individual mines will be made by the Divisional Controller of the Ministry of Labour and National Service acting on the recommendation of the District Coal Production Committees.
