LORD PRESIDENT'S COMMITTEE. COAL - PRODUCTION AND CONSUMPTION 1941-2. Memorandum by the Mines Department The coal production campaign for this summer has now reached a point at which the question is no longer, what is desirable but what is practicable. The programme of 4th March, approved by the Lord President's Committee, provided for the addition of 24 million tons during the summer to stocks, estimated at 15 million tons, on 31st March and involved an average weekly production for the 7 months to 31st October next of 4.
