7. Canned Fish and Canned Meat. I should like to ration these because of their importance, but the anticipated output of canned meat, canned fish, canned "meals", canned soup and canned pork and beans would only enable me to offer an aggregate of 8d. worth of these commodities per head per month. This ration would be derisory and, insofar as rationing frequently leads people to purchase a commodity which they have not used before, would not divert increased quantities to those who require them.
