(ii) R.P. (41) 15. On changes in planning law or administration required for control of development and redevelopment pending consideration of a permanent system which must depend on the Uthwatt Committee's eventual recommendations. This Report suggests Uthwatt Committee's present recommendations should be implemented by reinforcing existing interim planning powers, local authorities using them all over the country under closer central guidance. 6. The Interdepartmental Committee are now considering, in light of Uthwatt Committee's recommendations, the special requirements in "reconstruction areas".
