AL PRODUCTION. 1. The Committee had under consideration a Memorandum by the President of the Board of Trade Previous (L.P. As regards the immediate problem, THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF TRADE reminded the Committee that the Coal Production Council had been persuaded to abandon their original demand for 50,000 miners to be withdrawn from the Army on the understanding that the Minister of Labour would be able within a reasonable time to transfer 35,000 ex-miners from other industries.
