OF SKILLED IN THE ###VICES. ###erim Sri Report William ###eridge's committee. 1. The Committee had before them a Memorandum by the Minister of Labour (L.P. (41) 135) covering a copy of an Interim Report by a Committee, under the chairmanship of Sir William Beveridge, which had been considering the use of skilled men in the three fighting Services. Although the Committee were far from having completed their enquiry, the evidence already taken indicated that there was a high degree of dilution in the Services, work on servicing, maintenance and repair being undertaken by men who had little or no previous experience in engineering and were working with insufficient skilled supervision.
