###LINE ###NTION. ###sed ###ce ###ation ###tting ###r ###ng of The Comittee had before them a Memorandum on this subject by the Minister of War Transport (H.P.C.(41) 145), to which preliminary consideration had been given by the Home Policy Committee at their Meeting on the 22nd July (H.P.C.(41) 27th Meeting, Minute 4). THE MINISTER OF WAR TRANSPORT explained that in the course of general discussions regarding means of increasing imports into this country, the United States authorities had suggested that steps should be taken to enable cargo-carrying ships to load more deeply than was at present allowed by the International Load Line Convention, 1930.
