At their previous Meeting, the Committee had agreed that publicity experts should be consulted as to the best means of presenting to the public the decision to reduce the basic ration for private cars by imposing a cut of 50 per cent. in one month in each rationing period. THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF TRADE said that this matter had been referred to his Publicity Committee, who took the view that it would be inexpedient to impose this cut, for the first time, in the holiday month of August.
