(41) 7th Meeting, Conclusion (b) (i)) The Committee had before them a Memorandum by the President of the Board of Trade summarising the final details of his proposed scheme for the rationing of clothing (L.P. (41) 66). THE LORD PRESIDENT referred to the conclusions reached at a meeting held on the previous day to discuss the requirements of the Fighting Services for cotton and wool for clothing, and asked whether the drastic reductions approved at that meeting would make it possible to increase the proposed ration of clothing for civilians.
