S. av###ous Reference: (1) 12th ###g, (### 2.) 1. The Committee had before them Memoranda by the Minister of Health and the Secretary of State for Scotland, on the control of rents (L.P. (41) 57 and 55). It was agreed that the main ###vil related to furnished lettings, and that the most difficult cases were where a single charge was made to cover board and lodging. THE MINISTER OF HEALTH explained the action taken by his Department to deal with furnished lettings. Allegations of excessive rents were enquired into and appropriate action was taken.
