The Committee had before them a Report by the Sub-Committee on Civil Liabilities (L.P.(41) 43). The main proposals in this Report were as follows:- (1) (2) (3) Various amendments were proposed to the Landlord and Tenant (War Damage) Act, 1939, and to the law governing the relationship of landlord and tenant, as a result of the provisions of the War Damage Bill. The main proposal was an amendment to enable a tenant to give notice to retain his lease, conditional upon the eventual making of a cost of works payment.
