###RAILWAY 1. A preliminary discussion took place as AGREEMENT. to the basis on which a revised Agreement should be negotiated with the Railway Companies, The Committee's Conclusions were as follows:- (1) Discussions were proceeding, on the Departmental level, between the Treasury and the Ministry of Transport, about war damage: to the railways. The first step was for agreement to Fe reached between the Chancellor of the Exchequer and the Minister of Transport on this issue: (2) The Chancellor of the Exchequer and the Minister of Transport should examine the other outstanding problems in connection with the Railway Agreement, taking a long-term view, and should submit a Report to the Lord President's Committee as early as possible.
