WAREHOUSING. Report by Treasury Investigating Officers. I. INTRODUCTION. Officers of the Treasury Investigation Section recently undertook a general survey of the port of Liverpool with special reference to the possibility of redundancy and overlapping among the officials representing various authorities servicing or using the port. The results of this enquiry are being embodied in a general report on the working of the port. But it seemed to the Investigating Officers concerned that the question of warehousing was so urgent and likely to prove so embarrassing if, as the result of emergency, the port had suddenly to handle a greatly increased intake or facilities for clearing the normal intake were restricted, that it was decided to submit a special report on this matter.
