I now submit the following report on the first and fourth of the problems referred to me; and I hope shortly to be in a position to submit reports on the other two. 2. The problems of the supplies, stocks and requirements of bauxite and aluminium in the region outside enemy control can broadly be divided into those with which we are confronted within the next six months, before the new capacity for aluminium production in Canada can come fully into operation, and those which may subsequently arise as a result of the expansion of our war effort in the air and of the probable development of aircraft production in the United States and Canada.
