RECOVERY OF ALUMINIUM SCRAP. (Draft Directive by the Lord President's Committee). Committee have had under considera- The Lord President's tion the serious situation created by the inadequacy of our aluminium producing capacity and the consequent drain within recent months upon our limited stocks. 2. In view of the increased demand for aluminium which will arise through the expansion of our air programme and the additional difficulties in obtaining supplies from North America which will arise if the output of aircraft is increased in the United States, the Lord President's Committee consider it essential that every possible step should be taken to check the fall in our limited stocks.
