AGRICULTURAL PRICES. PRIVATE NOTICE QUESTION. THURSDAY, 27TH JUNE, 1940. Question. SIR EDWARD RUGGLES-BRISE - To ask the Minister of Agriculture if he is now in a position to make a statement in regard to adjustments in agricultural prices to take account of increases in wages and other costs. Draft Reply. Yes, Sir. The Government have had under review the prices of the principal agricultural products. They have taken full account of the fact that increased costs are being incurred by producers and that the substantial rise in agricultural wages, which is to take place in a few days' time, will impose an additional charge on farmers some months before the proceeds of the 1940 harvest will be available.
