THE COMMITTEE had before them a joint memorandum (L.P.(40)61) by the President of the Board of Trade and the Minister of Works and Buildings, making proposals, as arranged at the meeting of the Committee noted in the margin:- (i) for defining Departmental responsibility in regard to the requisitioning of factory and storage space with special reference to the need for rapid action: (ii) on the question whether it was desirable that the portion relating to factory and storage space of the Register maintained by the Ministry of Works and Buildings should be transferred to the Board of Trade at the time of the introduction of the proposed Control.
