THE MEANS TEST. (Previous reference L.P.(40) 22nd Conclusions). THE COMMITTEE had before them a paper by the Assistance Board (L.P.(40) 54) setting out their observations on the principles outlined in the statement on the Household Means Test made by the Prime Minister in the House of Commons on the 6th November. The purpose of the Board's paper was to put forward, for the Committee's consideration, their proposals for the detailed application of these principles; and the Committee agreed to discuss the principal points raised in the order in which they were set out in the Board's paper.
