1. THE COMMITTEE had before them the following papers on the question of warehousing:- Note by the Lord President covering a report by the Treasury Investigating Officers (L.P.(40) 40). Memorandum by the Minister without Portfolio (L.P.(40) 49). THE CHAIRMAN said that he was in agreement with the proposal of the Minister without Portfolio thatan inter- departmental Committee should be formed to deal with the question of the provision of warehousing in accordance with an ordered plan. The Chairman of this Committee should, he suggested, be the representative of the Board of Trade since that Department occupied a more neutral position in this matter than the other Departments concerned.
