###PENSATION ### WAR ###AGE TO ###PERTY. THE COMMITTEE had before them a Memorandum by the chancellor of the Exchequer giving particulars of a scheme for the grant of compensation for war damage to property (L.P.(40) 34). THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER said that this problem was one of exceptional difficulty; two previous Committees had reported against the practicability of evolving any scheme before the end of the war, as the result perhaps of the high estimate of damage at that time put forward by the Air Ministry.
